The modern field of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provides parties to a dispute with many alternatives to litigation. Most people find litigation and traditional court proceedings to be stressful, time consuming and costly. But there are other options including ones that may be less stressful, faster and less expensive.

In many cases, mediation is a preferable alternative to litigation. Unlike litigation, mediation is a private and informal process and one that many people find less stressful, less costly, faster and easier than preparing for and attending traditional court proceedings.

In mediation you may still be represented by a lawyer and reach a binding decision but you can do so in the comfort of our office, your office, or even electronically, instead of a courtroom. And in mediation you are the one who helps set the rules and decide on the resolution, not lawyers, a judge or jury.

Arbitration is another alternative to litigation. The main difference between mediation and arbitration is that in mediation the parties decide the outcome of their case; in arbitration the arbitrator decides the outcome.
